Update: Mustard Seed Property in Redruth

There is an acute lack of housing in Cornwall for vulnerable adults who are at risk of homelessness. Mustard Seed Property (MSP) offers an answer by purchasing homes in which vulnerable tenants can be supported into stable lifestyles.
As a community benefit society and charity, MSP leases property to trusted organisations in Cornwall, which are skilled in helping otherwise homeless adults find their feet.
These trusted organisations become ‘lease-partners’ and they include highly respected groups such as the St Petrocs Society and Karrek Community, their roles being to place tenants into the houses and give them the support they need.
Our share offer in 2018 raised nearly £350,000 towards a new property in Redruth, which we have now purchased.
We launched another community share offer on 19 June 2020. This raised a further £600,000 which has allowed us to convert the property in Redruth into three flats plus three studios, with an additional shared communal space, as well as to purchase a third property in Cornwall.
We are delighted that our latest Mustard Seed Property Community Share Offer is relaunching with some exciting updates including a higher anticipated return and lower minimum investment for people that live in Cornwall. The offer has also received a welcome boost of £20,000 match funding.

"MSP has a strong track record of helping vulnerable people in Cornwall and we know our investment will enable them to generate even more impact by providing the properties that other charities need to further their missions."
"We are very excited to be involved with such an innovative housing solution to help vulnerable adults in Cornwall. The Mustard Seed Property track record has already shown that investing this way works!
"We love their commitment to supporting local charities, achieving social impact by encouraging local investors to help those more vulnerable in the community. Our fund matching offer will hopefully encourage more people to invest so that more vulnerable adults can be supported with homes that really meet their needs."
“Cornwall has been a holiday destination for me since I was a child (I’m in my late sixties now!) and ten years ago we were fortunate enough to be able to purchase a holiday home in the Roseland. We have thoroughly enjoyed that, but have also been very conscious that second home ownership can come at a cost to the local community.
“The opportunity to invest in MSP and put something extra into the Cornwall community was therefore welcome, particularly given the intent to do something in St Austell and therefore not far away from us, Resonance is well known to me and their involvement gives me confidence that the scheme is well founded.”
