Making space for vulnerable people to flourish in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly

There is an acute lack of housing in Cornwall for vulnerable adults who are at risk of homelessness. Mustard Seed Property (MSP) offers an answer by purchasing homes in which vulnerable tenants can be supported into stable lifestyles.

As a community benefit society and charity, MSP leases property to trusted organisations in Cornwall, which are skilled in helping otherwise homeless adults find their feet.

These trusted organisations become ‘lease-partners’ and they include highly respected groups such as the St Petrocs Society and Karrek Community, their roles being to place tenants into the houses and give them the support they need.

Our share offer in 2018 raised nearly £350,000 towards a new property in Redruth, which we have now purchased.

We launched another community share offer on 19 June 2020. This raised a further £600,000 which has allowed us to convert the property in Redruth into three flats plus three studios, with an additional shared communal space, as well as to purchase a third property in Cornwall.

We are delighted that our most recent Mustard Seed Property Community Share Offer in 2024 raised over £207.5k. The offer had received a welcome boost of £20,000 match funding during the fund raise.
