Over the past year MSP directors and colleagues have been focusing on the delivery of our project in Redruth. This being our longest scheme in development, it has been met with a number of setbacks before reaching where we are today. Working with a local contractor, Irebuild, we are now six months into the property refurbishment and we are able to see the results of all the hard work.

DURING REFURBISHMENT

The property has had to go through a number of design iterations to better align it to housing partner needs and market fluctuations. The final product being a mix of one-bed flats and studio apartments, with a large, shared kitchen, communal space and spare bedroom for overnight support. The development of this particular property has always been signposted for our partners Karrek Community CIC, for the delivery of domiciliary care to adults with mental and physical disabilities. Overall creating a space for people to be independent, learn new skills and come together to build enhanced relationships.

As many of you will already know, MSP aims to provide properties that deliver a safe, comfortable living environment with sustainability as a driver. This property is no different. We are providing suitable ventilation via Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery (MVHR) and pairing this with a combination of an air-to-water heat pump with electric radiators, to avoid building a gas boiler into the scheme.
