MUSTARD SEED PROPERTY
MAKING SPACE for vulnerable people to flourish in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
There is an acute lack of housing in Cornwall for vulnerable adults who are at risk of homelessness. Mustard Seed Property (MSP) offers an answer by purchasing homes in which vulnerable tenants can be supported into stable lifestyles.
Since 2007, more than twenty individuals have been helped by MSP.
As a community benefit society and charity, MSP leases property to trusted organisations in Cornwall, which are skilled in helping otherwise homeless adults find their feet.
These trusted organisations become ‘lease-partners’ and they include highly respected groups such as the St Petroc’s Society and Karrek Community. Their roles are to place tenants into the houses and give them the support they need.
Our share offer in 2018 raised nearly £350,000 towards a new property in Redruth, that we have now purchased. We are planning a further share offer this summer 2020 and details will be released soon. Please check back for further information.
We have launched another community share offer on 19 June 2020. The plan is to raise further equity to convert a recently purchased property (into 3 flats plus 3 studios, with an additional shared communal space) as well as to purchase a third property in Cornwall.
The target raise of this new share offer will be £600,000, and you find more information on our Invest page or you can apply for shares online at: https://www.ethex.org.uk/mustardseed2020
